Obtaining an Accident Report
If you or your insurance company desires a copy of an accident report from the Franklin Police Department, a completed copy of the report is usually available within 2 business days from the date of the crash. There are three methods for obtaining accident reports:

MAIL:

To obtain a copy of an accident report by mail, send a letter to the Franklin Police Department requesting the accident report. Please provide sufficient information for Records to locate the report, such as the Report #, date of the crash, location of the crash, names of the driver(s) and/or vehicle owner(s). Mail the letter to the following address:

A fee of $5.00 must accompany the request for a copy of  the accident report, payable by money order or cashier's check to the Franklin City Police Department. Also enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope for returning the report to you.

IN PERSON:

Copies may be obtained in person at the Franklin City Police Department Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm. The same information as above must be provided to the Records Office, and cash, money order, cashier's check, or debit/credit card in the amount of $5.00 must be remitted at the time the copy is provided.  Note:  All debit/credit transactions are assessed a small fee.

TOWED VEHICLES
