- City CouncilThe City of Franklin Common Council consists of seven members who serve as the legislative branch of the City of Franklin. The members are elected by voters in their district and each member serves a four-year term. The city council meets the first and third Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are open to the public, and held in City Hall, located at 70 E. Monroe Street.

National Night Out is a national community initiative to join the police and the public together under a positive circumstance.
Franklin community members are invited to join local law enforcement for our second annual National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 1,
The upcoming NNO event will take place in Province Park, bordering South Street, Branigin Blvd., Main Street, and Monroe Street.
This event will feature opportunities for interacting with Franklin police officers, Johnson County Sheriffs, and Franklin firefighters. Equipment and vehicles will be on display along with Police K-9 Unit demonstrations and other safety awareness activities. The Franklin Family Aquatic Center will be open to the public for a free swim. Free cookout, while supplies last, will be provided and the whole family is invited to enjoy an evening of fun!
