- City CouncilThe City of Franklin Common Council consists of seven members who serve as the legislative branch of the City of Franklin. The members are elected by voters in their district and each member serves a four-year term. The city council meets the first and third Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are open to the public, and held in City Hall, located at 70 E. Monroe Street.

Event Description:
Three woodcarving clubs will team up on Saturday, November 1st for a big woodcarving show. Franklin Chipmates, Indianapolis Circle City Carvers,
and Columbus Hoosier Carvers will host the show, anticipating fellow carvers from other Indiana cities, Illinois, Ohio, and Kentucky. Hours are 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. The gymnasium at the Cultural Arts and Recreation Center will be filled with tables of carvings, award ribbons, vender for tools and supplies, and vender of wood for carving. The public is invited to attend with free admission. Also, visitors will vote on Peoples’ Choice award winner.
