- City CouncilThe City of Franklin Common Council consists of seven members who serve as the legislative branch of the City of Franklin. The members are elected by voters in their district and each member serves a four-year term. The city council meets the first and third Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are open to the public, and held in City Hall, located at 70 E. Monroe Street.

This weekly program will meet every Saturday for four weeks at the Franklin Center for Music on 550 E. Jefferson St. (next to the Boys and Girls Club, Third Floor) Through a variety of fun and enriching activities, this course will offer an overview of a broad spectrum of musical styles. Participants will learn about different musical instruments with live demonstrations, as well as the great composers from Beethoven to Duke Ellington. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn basic music theory concepts, including a simple blues and folk music chord progression. No experience necessary. All supplies provided. Ages: Teens and Adults.
