- City CouncilThe City of Franklin Common Council consists of seven members who serve as the legislative branch of the City of Franklin. The members are elected by voters in their district and each member serves a four-year term. The city council meets the first and third Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are open to the public, and held in City Hall, located at 70 E. Monroe Street.

Visit the genealogy library for extended hours Friday July 23rd. Inaddition to extended hours in the library, a Beginning Genealogy class
will be held at 6:30 and a DNA Research for Genealogists class will be
offered at 8:00. These classes are free to attend but reservations by
close Thurs. July 22nd are required. Light snacks will be served.
