Public Meeting for Franklin Flood Victims

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

 

 

A public meeting will be held Thursday October 2, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the ArtCraft Theatre Auditorium located at 57 North Main Street in Franklin Indiana, for the purpose of updating all Franklin Flood Victims and interested parties on the Franklin Flood Buyout Application with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security / Federal Emergency Management Agency.  This public meeting is being held to comply with U.S. Department of Homeland Security / Federal Emergency Management Agency Public Notice Requirements.  Specifically, this meeting will serve to inform the public of Franklin's desire to acquire approximately ninety flood-damaged structures located in roughly the South Street, Center Street, S. Main Street, S. Jackson Street, Dunn Street, Hemphill Street, Nineveh Street, S. Home Avenue, Jefferson Street, King Street and Young Street areas. All structures purchased as part of this project will be demolished or relocated and the land returned to natural Open Green Space, per Federal guidelines.
