City Flag

CITY ADOPTS NEW FLAG

The City of Franklin is proud to announce that a new flag design has been adopted. The flag was designed and presented by the Franklin Mayor's Youth Leadership Council and approved to the Board of Public Works and Safety on Monday, April 17, 2017. The MYLC expressed their objective to capture Franklin's rich history along with the future anticipated growth.

New Franklin City Flag

*Colors - Navy Blue, Yellow, White

* Seal - founding date of city (1823) featured in the center

* Six Stars - Tradition, Community, Opportunity, Education, Innovation, and Commerce

The original city flag featuring a profile of Benjamin Franklin was designed by Alice Flanagan and adopted in 1979. Mrs. Flanagan attended the Board of Public Works and Safety meeting and was presented with an original flag and certificate of appreciation.
